| The aviary is in the
study of our home in The Woodlands, Texas north of Houston. It's a bright
and cheery place full of singing Gouldians. I sit everyday and watch the
birds for behavior and health issues and the soap opera that goes on between the
pairs. Our bird room is kept impeccably clean, well ventilated and
temperature controlled. Because the birds are
in the house they are accustomed to many visitors, i.e. adults, kids
helping, and dogs playing. As a result they are very well adjusted
and enjoy their visits. What I find so unique about Gouldian Finches
is that they will come to the front of the cage and tilt their heads from
side to side as if to say "Hi, Your here to see me!"
My aviary is a very comforting place to be,
being surrounded by so much of God's beauty. As beautiful as it is, we
have now expanded. Take the journey through the pictorial transition and
